Damon Wayans turns 66 on Friday but he still has plenty of energy to perform for 4 straight nights this week at Levity Live in West Nyack at the Palisades Center Mall in Rockland County! His brother Marlon just played the club but this is Damon's first appearance there!

I had the pleasure of chatting with him for over 10 minutes on Tuesday afternoon when he called from his L.A. home...although he's looking forward to being back in New York where he was born and raised.

We talked about a lot of things and I told him that in my humble opinion, the Wayans family is the gold standard for comedy in the U.S.

I know the Marx Brothers were hysterical but I think all the Wayans just keep producing great stand-up, TV and movies...can Scary Movie 7 be far away? . 

Damon mentioned his 13 year old granddaughter (an aspiring singer ) just watched the Michael Jackson movie and told Damon...the music industry seems hard...I may just go into comedy...and he rightly told her she'd be good at it because its in her DNA! I told him about my 13 year old granddaughter and how proud I was to see her perform with her dance troupe at the Dutchess County Fair...and Damon made a great comment that he wishes somehow he had grandchildren BEFORE his own children. Impossible but he said he's have been a better father as a result!
