We're all dreaming of it. A White Christmas, even though it might be inconvenient and disruptive to those that travel for the holiday. But in Hudson Valley, NY this year, we're not likely to get one. Sorry, Bing Crosby. Here's what meteorologists have to say.
Weather experts, like those at The Weather Channel, believe a lack of precipitation could result in a "snow drought" for several states this winter, especially along the east coast, including New York, reports Best of Life.
Snowfall along the the northeast portion of the I-95 corridor has even been labeled "pathetic" by TWC in recent years. For example, over the last two winters, Boston, Massachusetts only saw 22 inches of snow, well below the state's average.
Now, some of you reading may be doing a happy dance that a mild winter troubled by fewer snowstorms for the Hudson Valley is predicted, but the Department of Energy’s Office of Science notes that less winter snow means less runoff in the spring, and in turn dryer bodies of water.
Are you happy or sad that Hudson Valley might not have a White Christmas?
